Abel Shingange is well known as the step-father of South African comedian, television host, producer, writer, actor, and political commentator Trevor Noah. 

Ex-wife fell in love with a 46-year-old man 

His ex-wife Patricia Nombuyiselowas earlier in a relationship with Robert Noah.

They both even had a son, who they named Trevor Noah. 

He was of Swiss ancestry, whereas his girlfriend is of Xhosa ancestry from southern Africa. 

She was only 24 when she fell in love with him. The age gap between them was 26 years old. 

But the only thing they care about was their love. At that time, any kind of interracial sexual relations and marriage was illegal. 

Since he was white and his girlfriend was black, their relationship was not legal in any way.

He used to give them mental as well as physical torture. Although being in an abusive relationship,  two together went on to have two children. 

Both of them are sons. Their names are Andrew Shingange and Isaac Shingange. Both of them are settled in their life. 

After being together for four years, she finally divorced him in 1996. 

She got married for the second time to Sfiso Khoza in 2009. 

Seeing her moving on in life, her ex-husband lost his temper and attempted to kill her by shooting in the leg and back of her head. 

Luckily, she survived the horrifying incident. There were no severe injuries other than some minor damages to her nostril. 

When her son confronted him over the incident, he again threatened him to move to LA; otherwise, he might have to face the same situation as his mother. 

Despite registering the complaint so often about domestic violence, no action was taken against him until 2011. 

In 2011, he was sentenced to three years of correctional supervision on the attempt of the murder charge.
